Sitting in the cafe after a dinner in Aguas Calientes and an afternoon at Machu Pichu.
We left Pisaq after spending 6 days with a group of 13 people coming together very closely in ceremony at Ayahuasca -Wasi (checkout their website if you want to expand your mind and heart with an ancient plant medicine) . We did three nights of ayahuasca ceremony and the rest of the time we integrated our teachings, meditated, played music, and toured the countryside.
We went to amazing places like Moray, where Inca peoples experimented with crops by creating a huge tiered pit in the ground making different microenvironments. A very amazing place.
Went to the highest weaving village in the sacred valley to buy wares and watch the weavers. We took crayons. paper, jump ropes, balls and balloons to share with the children. a very cool place with lovely people.
Went to an orphanage that is run by a Colorado ex patriot and his wife who started this project 10 years ago. What an amazing place filled with laughter and god food grown organically at their farm.
we visited a great orphanage run by a couple form colorado. what an inspiration!! These folks need help financially so google them and send money for this great project. ponds. hundreds of evaporative ponds worked by the same families for centuries.. 95% salt content in a warm river that comes into the valley from underground.
Back to Cusco and after saying good bye to all our new family. Some of us are staying at a nice hotel in the San Blas district. A very beautiful place with great services, people and location. I highly recommend this place.
Took the 7am train to Aguas Calientes, got on the bus and went up to the mind blowing Inca Ruins of Machu Pichu... Can not express the amazing feeling and technology of this place... never mind the location. We go back tomorrow for a whole day of hiking and painting... Our guide name is Moises and was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent english. He has been a guide for ten years.
We are meeting amazing people and having an amazing time in this glorous country (I do not recommend Andina luxury hotel, is new but no internet, hot tea, box lunch availability right over the train tracks and very expensive)
Despite not getting hardly any sleep, and being emotionally washing dishes at a friend's house.
I will have more info about this orphanage when I get home exhausted, having a hell of a good time!!
