A new adventure racing website has hit the scene, promising to bring more coverage to the growing sport. Compass Adventure Racing launched at ARYouReady.com a few days back, with a small, but solid amount of content.
Amongst the articles posted, you'll find a nice recap of Primal Quest 2008 and a look at the past, present, and future of the race. Both of those articles are written by adventure photographer/writer Craig Stein, whose work I mentioned in a post last week. You'll also find a good article on finding a teammate and another on how to avoid bonking. (I need that one!)
The site is looking to build a community of adventure racers, and will be offering gear advice, an online forum, and links to other AR sites. Their introduction to AR article is also very well done and a nice resource for new racers.
I'm told that the site has had a "soft launch" so far, but they'll have a bigger, more official launch in the near future. If you're a fan of adventure racing, it'll definitely be a site to keep your eyes on, as it looks like there will soon be some excellent content and resources.
